Refund Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Sharecam packages are one-time purchases for a single event. This page explains when a package bought on our website can be refunded, how to ask for a refund and what happens to the event afterwards. It forms part of our Web Purchase Terms.
1. Where you bought decides who refunds
- Bought on the web (sharecam.app). Web purchases are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd. (UK) and Paddle.com Inc. (US), our authorised reseller and merchant of record. Paddle issues the invoice and processes the refund. Ask us first (section 4): we approve eligible refunds and Paddle pays them back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. Paddle may also refund a purchase itself under its Buyer Terms; the event is then handled as in section 3.
- Bought in the App Store. In-app purchases are sold by Apple, and only Apple can refund them: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't see your Apple payment details and can't issue App Store refunds ourselves.
2. When a web purchase is refundable
- Before the event is used: 14 days, no questions asked. If no guest has joined the event and no photo or video has been added to it, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. This is also your statutory right of withdrawal as an EU/UK consumer; the same 14-day window applies to everyone, wherever you live.
- Once the event has been used (a guest joined, or a photo or video was added), the package has been consumed and is no longer refundable, except where the service did not work as described.
- If Sharecam did not work (guests could not join, uploads failed, or the package was not applied to your event), write to us within 30 days of the event with the event code. We will fix it or refund it.
- Duplicate payments (for example, you paid on the web and in the app for the same event, or paid twice on the web) are always refunded in full.
3. What happens to the event after a refund
If a web purchase is refunded or charged back and nothing else was paid for the event, the event is suspended: no new photos or guests beyond the free plan, face matching off, downloads off. If the refunded payment was an upgrade and an earlier package for the same event is still paid, the event goes back to that earlier package instead, and its downloads stay on. Either way nothing is deleted early: photos stay until the storage window you paid for ends. Buying again reactivates the event.
Turning face matching off deletes its data: the face index of the event's photos and the guests' face-search consents. If the package comes back, face matching stays off until the host switches it on again, and guests who want to find their photos by face agree again.
4. How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout, with:
- the six-character event code (for example
AB3K7X), and - the Paddle order number from your receipt email.
We answer within two business days. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. For App Store purchases we will point you to Apple's refund page.
5. Chargebacks
If you dispute a web payment with your bank instead of writing to us, the chargeback has the same effect as a refund: the event is suspended, or goes back to the package still paid, as described in section 3. We may contest a chargeback we believe is wrong; if the dispute is decided in our favour, the package comes back. Face matching stays off until the host switches it on again, and guests agree to face search again (its earlier data was deleted, section 3). Please write to us first: it is faster, and we refund every eligible purchase.
