Privacy Policy

ShareCam ("we", "us") is an event photo-gallery app operated by Boz Apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect only what the product needs, we never sell your data, and event photos belong to the people at the event.
What we collect
- Event content. Photos and videos that hosts and guests add to an event album, plus the event's name, date and optional cover photo.
- Names. Guests join with a name or nickname so the host can see who joined and whose photos are whose.
- Account details (optional). Hosts may add a name and e-mail to keep their events across devices. Hosting works without an account.
- Purchase records. Package purchases in the app are processed by Apple; we receive a receipt that unlocks the package — never your card details. Packages bought on our website are sold by Paddle; see “Web purchases” below.
- Basic diagnostics. Crash logs and anonymized usage counters that help us keep uploads reliable.
- Advertising measurement. If you allow tracking, a small set of app events (app opened, event created, invite shared, package purchased) and your device's advertising identifier are shared with Meta so we can tell which ads bring new hosts to ShareCam. See “Advertising and measurement” below.
- Notification token (optional). If you allow notifications, we store the device token Apple issues us, together with your chosen app language so alerts arrive in the right one. It is used only to send you the alerts described below, it is never readable by other users, and turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops it being used.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not show ads inside the app.
- We never share your photos, videos, guest names or event content with advertising partners.
- We do not use your photos to train AI models.
- We do not read your photo library — only the items you explicitly choose to upload leave your device.
Advertising and measurement
We advertise ShareCam on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. To find out whether those ads actually work, we share a limited set of app events with Meta — for example that an event was created, an invite was shared, or a package was purchased — along with basic device information. Your photos, videos, guest names and event content are never shared with advertising partners.
On iOS, sharing anything that could identify your device across other companies' apps happens only if you tap Allow on the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, your advertising identifier is not collected and we receive only aggregated, privacy-preserving measurement such as Apple's SKAdNetwork. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Web purchases
Packages bought on our website are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd. (UK) and Paddle.com Inc. (US), our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects your e-mail address, billing country and payment details to complete the order, prevent fraud, issue the invoice and handle taxes and refunds. For that payment data Paddle is an independent controller under Paddle's privacy policy, and it processes it in the United Kingdom and the United States under its own safeguards. We never see or store your card details.
From Paddle we receive and keep an order record: your ShareCam account ID, the event and the package, whether it was a test or a real payment, the amount, the currency and Paddle's customer ID, together with the purchase entry that applies the package to the event. We use these records only to apply the package, to answer refund and support requests, and for our accounting.
Order and purchase records are not removed when you delete your account or an event: we keep them for as long as tax and accounting law requires. They contain no photos and no card details.
Who can see event photos
Visibility is controlled by the event host: in an open gallery every guest of that event sees the shared album; in private mode only the host sees everything and guests see just their own uploads. Event albums are reachable only through the event's QR code or 6-character invite code, and hosts can pause new joins or remove a guest at any time.
Storage and deletion
Each package includes a storage window (7 days to 12 months). Every event shows its deletion date, and we remind hosts before a gallery expires: with a notification in the app, and with reminder banners and a calendar file on the web. Photos are never silently deleted. Hosts can delete individual photos or the entire event at any time, which permanently removes its content. Guests can delete their own uploads.
Notifications
Notifications are optional and are only requested once you create or join an event. We use them for things that happen in your own albums: someone liked your photo, a private album was revealed, your first guest joined, an album is filling up or about to expire, or a photo was reported to you as host. We do not send marketing or promotional notifications.
Face data
An optional feature lets you find the photos you appear in by taking a selfie. It is off for an event until that event's host turns it on and confirms the host declaration, it is opt-in for each person individually, and it is never a condition of using an album.
Face matching is processed on our servers, not on your device: your selfie is sent to us and passed to our face-matching provider, Amazon Web Services, in Frankfurt, Germany. Face data is never sold, never shared with advertisers or analytics providers, never used to train AI models, and never used to identify you across different events. The signature made from your selfie is destroyed as soon as your search finishes and within 24 hours at the latest.
For users in Türkiye this is a transfer abroad under Article 9 KVKK. We rely on your explicit consent for it: the consent screen tells you where your selfie goes and who processes it before you agree, and if you would rather your face data did not leave Türkiye you can simply not use the feature.
Declining will never affect your access to an album, and you can withdraw at any time as easily as you agreed. The feature is not offered in Illinois, Texas or Washington, or in China, Russia and Vietnam. Your rights
You can request a copy or deletion of data connected to you at any time by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or Türkiye, you additionally have the rights granted by GDPR/KVKK, including complaint to your supervisory authority.
Children
ShareCam is not directed at children under 13, and hosts are responsible for the audience of their events.

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and, for material changes, note them in the app.
