Delete your account and data
This page explains how to delete your account and your data in ShareCam (published as “ShareCam: Event Photo Album”). You can do it yourself inside the app, or ask by e-mail.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and needs no e-mail.
- Open ShareCam on your phone.
- Go to Settings and find the Account section.
- Tap Delete everything.
- Confirm on the “Delete your account and data?” dialog.
Your account and the data listed below are deleted straight away, on every device. This cannot be undone.
Option 2 — ask by e-mail
Write to [email protected] with the subject Delete my account. If you signed in, write from the same e-mail address. If you only joined an album as a guest, include the event code and the name you used, so your uploads can be found. We reply within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in identity (e-mail, Google or Apple).
- Every event you created, with all photos and videos in it, and its guest list.
- Photos and videos you uploaded as a guest to other people’s albums.
- Your guest sessions, the name you joined under, and your likes and favourites.
- Your face-matching data, if you ever consented to face matching. It can also be deleted on its own at any time — see Finding your photos by face.
- Your notification token, so the app can no longer reach your device.
What is kept, and for how long
- Diagnostic and error logs — deleted automatically 30 days after they are written.
- Purchase and refund records — the transaction identifier of any package you bought is kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Payment card details are never stored by us; payments are handled by the app store.
- Content other people uploaded to an album you joined stays with that album and its host. It is not yours to delete. Ask the host, or write to us at the address above.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- Guests can delete their own uploads from an album at any time.
- Hosts can delete any single photo, remove a guest, or delete the whole event, which permanently removes its content.
- Face-matching data can be withdrawn and deleted on its own, without touching the rest of your account.
- Every package has a storage window, from 7 days on the free package up to 12 months. Hosts are notified before an album expires; nothing is ever deleted silently.
